Registering and Ordering

Information We Collect from Interactions or Other Sources

Payment processing
- When you make purchases through our website, we will ask for such information like name, contact information and credit card information required for checkout. We send the purchase total, currency and customer’s billing information to the respective payment processor. Please see the respective third party’s privacy policy (Stripe’s Privacy Policy and PayPal’s Express Privacy Policy and Google Payments) for more details. We will maintain information such as the Name and address of the customer as well as the expiry and the last four digits of the credit card for our own records and security of future inquiries which will allow us to better assist inquires during the payment, delivery and warranty process. The customers’ information is processed and sent via third-party payment platforms to ensure that you are in fact the authorized person to be making such purchases via your payment selection. If you have given approval we may store credit card information for future processing in an encrypted format in the secured servers of our Payment Gateway Service Providers.
- For automated taxes we send the value of goods in the cart, the value of shipping, and the destination address to TaxJar. Please see TaxJar’s Privacy Policy for details about how they handle this information. For checkout rates we send the destination ZIP/postal code and purchased product dimensions, weight and quantities to USPS or Canada Post, depending on the service used. For shipping labels we send the customer’s name, address as well as the dimensions, weight, and quantities of purchased products to EasyPost. We also store the purchased shipping labels on our server to make it easy to reprint them and handle support requests.
Comments:
- When visitors leave comments on the site it is submitted to the Akismet service (also owned by Automattic) we collect data shown in the comments form, and also the visitors IP address/browser user agent string to help spam detection.
- An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment. The actual submission data is stored in the database of the site on which it was submitted and is emailed directly to the owner of the form (i.e. the site author who published the page on which the contact form resides). This email will include the submitter’s IP address, timestamp, name, email address, website, and message.
- In order to process a comment like, the following information is used: WordPress.com user ID/username (you must be logged in to use this feature), the local site-specific user ID (if the user is signed in to the site on which the like occurred), and a true/false data point that tells us if the user liked a specific comment. If you perform a like action from one of our mobile apps, some additional information is used to track the activity: IP address, user agent, timestamp of event, blog ID, browser language, country code, and device info.
Contact Forms:
- Through the use of the contact form a user first and the last name, email and message are kept on the servers for a predetermined amount of time. At which time the information provided in this fashion is utilized for direct communication with the customer/visitor to the site.
Cookies used:
- If you leave a comment and/or make a purchase and therefore create an account on our site you may opt-in to save your name, email address and website in cookies locally on your computer. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year and are accessed when visiting the site for your convenience.
- If you have an account and you log in to this site, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.

How do we protect visitor information?

All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website Administrators and Shop Managers can also see and edit that information. Members of the team may also be able to view order information like what was purchased when it was purchased and where it should be sent. These members associated with ReckGear have access to this information to help fulfill orders, and process refunds and support you.

To delete all of your online account information from our database, sign into the “My Account” section of our site and remove your shipping addresses, billing addresses & payment information. Please note that we may maintain information about an individual sales transaction in order to service that transaction and for record-keeping.
